OP2: Co-create/teach a unique Permaculture and Ecovillage Leadership training course for an Institute of sustainability , with the vision of it becoming an annual course offering. My goals are to be a leaderful leader and supportive co-teacher while giving participants a memorable and inspiring experience. I have created a mind map of more detailed goals for my OP2. see left column of Evidence and resources page
OP2 I.S. Permaculture Course
Co-creation of a new two week Permaculture and Eco-village design course for an Institute of Sustainability.
The course was designed as a "themed" leadership training course. The theme was permaculture and eco-village design. They didn't intend it to be a PDC certificate course. I brought up this issue of not having that articulated and how some people might be expecting a certificate. Consult Mark K. on what to do. First PDC?
Coming into this project mid-stride and being asked to be a lead teacher presents many challenges and opportunities. Get clear on short term and long-term goals for this course.
The syllabus I was handed is a full schedule but does not give a breakdown of what will be covered in each session. If it is to be a certificate course we will need to make some additional adjustments.
The course starts on Sunday June 15 and finishes 28th

OP4: Create a manual for how to teach an earthen oven workshop. There are many manuals on how to build your own earthen oven and courses available yet I haven't found any information on how to teach a course. This being my final capstone project OP I really want this OP to reflect the depth of my knowledge and experience. At the same time I want to offer a bridge in this gap in the field to assist others to create and teach their own courses. Though I have taught many I will run through the entire process teaching a course in Switzerland (which will also translate this content into French increasing its ability to spread). I am aiming for publishable level work.
OP4 Oven Course Manuel
Create a manual for how to teach an earthen oven workshop - through teaching one and tracking my steps
Articulate my goals for OP4
Meet with Mark to brainstorm so of the things I should be taking into consideration for this course
Network to secure an Oven workshop in Switzerland.
Go through course outline and detail materials needs for the course. Convert necessary measurements into metric.
There will be some adjustment to when depending on the foundation. - I put in a lot of energy to get this course to happen but it fell through.
