Pro-review feedback LIPD YR1
I extracted the main points of constructive feedback from the pro-review of my first LIPD for the bennifit of improving this LIPD.
- You have put a lot of thought/planing into your OP2, and not so much into your other OPs.
- It also would be beneficial to connect allies with certain projects/OPs, and to give more information about how you will utilize them. As far as the reader goes, it would be more helpful to have OP reflections at the end, so I have some basis for understanding your reflections.
- Your report is also lacking an introduction/ conclusion... it should be readable and understandable outside of the abstract, specifications, reflections, and supporting evidence. Do you have a framework for seeking new projects/ evaluating opportunities that can help you achieve your learning goals?
- I think it would have been useful to be a bit more holistic about your year and how you plan on accomplishing your goals/ other outputs. Your project goals on the first page don't exatly line up with your projects
- how are you addressing your other personal, professional, and patrix goals?
Pro-review notes
Accumulative self-review feedback
I extracted the main points of constructive feedback from my self-review of my OP5 Learning Review, where I was assessing my performance over the entire year. Seeing the sections of the PoDAPO review that I felt needed improvement helped me to create this OP, and my tracking systems for the coming cycle.
Note: Looking back over these sections which need improvement, I could have given myself more constructive critisism with solution-based thinking.
Editing shape and size - Accumulative 3.45: Looking back over my OPs I am satisfied with my progress yet I see in the beginning I was less concise and more complex
Articulation and tracking approach - Accumulative 3.5: Though I put a lot of time and energy in trying to explain my Design process, my first attempts I believe were just above the requirements. The iterative process is successful
Project Design and engagement - Accumulative 3.45: I feel this is one element I have continually improved on as I get more familiar with the process.
OP Design - Accumulative 3.5: My OP design page has been a dynamic part of each of my Project Ops. I have improved steadily in my OP design process
Reflections on UN/Learning Patterns and Skillflexes - Accumulative 3.95: Unlearning patterns and skillflexes have been thoroughly document in various ways throughout my OP work.
Critical Eval skills and references to good practices - Accumulative 3.5: My strongest part in this criteria is my annotated resource pages and good practices. I need improvement in comparative assessment, though I have used it in several instances.
Leadership Facilitation and mentoring efforts - Accumulative 3.95: I really pushed this edge of teaching /leading and it made this a rich year of growth
Practical benefits to the field - Accumulative 3.5: I feel my ripple effect diagrams (OP2 and 3) is a great tool/illustration for this. I am looking foreword to excelling more in this criteria.
Competence and Attention to Professional Development - Accumulative 3.45: My efforts to improve in this field are one of my key goals and I believe my improvement is evident in my outreach and involvement to build these "skills".

Acceleration
During the time inbetween my OP5 (finishing up my first cycle) and my LIPD (starting my second cycle) I applied to be accepted into an accelerated program. See my Acceleration application page here (I have attached the acceptance letter with feedback at the bottom of the app. page). See my preperation work for this acceleration in my OP5 in the right column here (press back arrow to continue in the OP).
The Quebec Convergence called me back by putting a photo of me on one of the e-fliers. Funny story the girl in the foreground (with the shades) I ended up meeting in Mexico this past winter, but didn't meet at the convergence.
i-Tech support
I recently created a page where I am recording solutions I have found to different digital-technical problems I encounter. Which includes an easy way of taking screen shots, html for Mahara, cleaning up memory space in Mahara and more, here is a link to my i-Tech page.
OP2 S.M.A.R.T.E.R Goals
ME ecovillage Project Description
When I was living at Metta Earth they expressed the interest in making the next steps to become an ecovillage. I considered making this one of my OP projects for the year. I created the M.E. Structural Map above and the project overview below. After moving out and realizing where they were in the process, having several paid consultants I decided to focus on my teaching skillflex theme of the year instead. I have come to see that making these types of distilled maps is a strength of mine.
Co-create a phase plan/design for Metta Earth to become an Ecovillage. Designing the invisible structures of organizations of M.E. and their relations. Another dynamic of this project is accomplishing some of the essential next steps; organic certification, zoning permissions, market relations etc.
Resume Goals
I have realized that using the Resume fields in Mahara has its benefits and challenges. It is useful as it updates automatically all the areas where you post these fields. It is challenging because you need to keep a separate document of these fields so you have the evolution of the fields documented. Though I should be resiliently documenting I missed this aspect of Resume fields and have lost some of my Resumes evolution. Above is a screen shot of my envisioned Goals of the coming year when I was working on my OP5 LR (a text doc. is less memory).
My Goals have changed a lot since this time. Only one of the four proposed project goals is still on my agenda.
Looking ahead from OP5
Above is the time-line I created for my OP5 where I started to look ahead into my new cycle. I used this as a template and made adjustments to create the time-line on my Goals and pathway management page. Reusing documents has helped me save time and be conscious of changes and the evolution of my process.
outdated Schedule
Above is another type of schedule I created in an attempt to make a more concentrated document with the categories of: Gaia U work, Events and Goals. I have had so much updating of the many documents I created for this OP that I decided this document will stay as it is for now until/if I feel it is useful, then I will update it.
End of Year Presentation Prezi
Above is the Prezi (external link) that I used for my End of Year Presentation. I was working on this presentation, my LIPD, and my application for acceleration at the same time. I have attached my presentation prep. notes, the feedback notes and my End of Cycle Internal Review. Click arrow by attached files to reveal drop-down menu.

Activity Hub
I created the Activity Hub a (Mahara group) at the end of last year with the intent of it being a place where associates could focus on group projects or could have informal exchange about anything.
Shortly after, I was asked if I would give it over to Gaia U so it could be used for the purpose of consolidating all the groups. I said yes. The group has been anything but active and has not become the single group of Mahara yet...
I recently attempted to engage the rest of Gaia U in getting feedback this idea by posting on the All Gaia Community forum here (you must have a Gaia GEL account) and in the Activity Hub itself (seen above). I got two responses and am now considering what my next steps are.
Diigo group - I am one of the few associate that seems to use this group. Since mid-April I am the only one who has posted - I have 10 links since then.

Gaia Radio Forum posts
After my End of Cycle review I was informed that I was missing six out of the eight required Gaia Radio calls I needed to finish my first year. This was coming at a time I was working on this LIPD as well as being fully engaged in my OP2 work, teaching a two week residential Permaculture course.
I decided I needed to work it in (to finish up my first year) so I spent my break times after lunch listening to calls taking notes and reflecting on the topics, while collecting more information with links and documents.

Resources Review
Below are the links to the pages I referenced to create my Self-evaluation progress tracking rubric followed by an explanation of what I got from the page.
- https://www.ecu.edu/cs-educ/opd/upload/AssessmentQualityRubrics.pdf - This page gave me a good idea of areas to consider when tracking progress through good questions
- http://jfmueller.faculty.noctrl.edu/toolbox/rubrics.htm - This page gave me more info in understanding the use of rubrics and different scales/styles.
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubric_(academic) - Wikipedia helped me understand rubrics a little deeper
- http://oflaslo.weebly.com/proficiency-rubrics.html#.U-eQm1ZH1lI - I came across this proficiency chart which gave me my key of proficiency. Once I reached this point I could use the skill flex chart I created in my OP5 and alter it into a “Proficiency Rubric which felt as though it would make my self-assessment feedback loop more meaningful and thus more effective.

This OP was created on a MacBook Air. The text was created in TextEdit saved as plain text and copied and pasted into Mahara (or uploaded - journals & Docs.). The font is Book Antigua (14). All photos were taken with my iPhone 4 saved as a jpg and imported at 50 kg to Mahara.
The photos that have been altered with effects and drop-shadows were altered in Pixelmator, All OP Project images were created with Pixelmator as well (highly recommended - cheap photo editor), all mindmaps were created in XMind and embedded, GADIE Design cycle, Presence seed, and Feedback loops images were created in Mac Pages, I then took screen shots (see this page for how I take screen shots) and resized them in preview, then uploaded to Mahara, Self-eval progress tracking rubic and key images were created in Mac Numbers, I took a screen shot, resized in preview, then uploaded to Mahara. The GADIE task list details where created using Evernote app. on my iPhone.
