OP5 The Aquaponic Edible Wall by Teryl Chapel
In the fall of 2013 I was asked by the owners if I could design an aquaponic food production system for Page Restaurant in Sag Harbor New York. This installation when completed would produce high value, healthy, nutritious, pesticide free food using aquaponics. The Aquaponics systems would also be designed to enhance the restaurant experience for Page’s customers. After a year of operation at the time of this writing the three systems I designed and installed for Page are working very well.
In the Spring of 2015 I was approached by the folks at www.BrightAgrotech.com to create a short course based on my experience for the Upstart Farmers University. To access these 10 minute audio slide show segments click on the links at the end of pages 2,3, and 4.
The following pages describe my design, build, and consulting process for the Aquaponic Edible Wall for Page @ 63 Main Sag Harbor, NY.
It is best for the reader to follow chronologically by clicking the tabs above from left to right.
The goals articulation, proposal, and log books I created for the project can be found in the appendices along with supporting links.
Note: Much of the text in this OP was transcribed from my hour long interview for the USU short course so it reads as if I was talking to you. I was able to pay a modest fee to have this done. I saw this as an opportunity to "stack functions" TC
