Time, project and promises management
This section details/reviews my methods of time, project and promises management.
I created the patterns-perspective (broad) schedule of this project with both Mahara Tasks and an iThoughts mindmap, seen right column. These helped give me a wide perspective of the overall timeframe which I could reflect back on to check/keep on schedule.
For my detail schedule of project/time management I worked incrementally, by journaling. When I would complete a task/day or something came to mind that needed attention, I would type out a quick entry. This entry could be an overview of what I had done, a next step, things that needed attention, or all of the above. I found this a very effective method. I was able to stay ahead of my outlined time-frame.
I used my iPhones; calendar and reminders to track meeting dates/times, the notes app. to help keeping track of measurements or materials that I needed to remember, the camera app. to take reference pictures of a part or something I needed to refer to.
There is always room for improvement. I know I am a perfectionist and see I still have work to do in finding a balance between quality and efficiency.
