This page 1.3 Project oucomes details the outcomes of this project for: me Personaly, the ecosocial field, my professional career, and the transformation of a Social paradigm.

Personal outcomes

This project changed my outlook on how to approach and design a project. I feel I am understanding the application of the design principle work smarter not harder. In my previous projects I was trying to put in every detail and did "not allow seeing the forest for the trees".

Principle Un/Learnings:

  • Prototyping / outlining projects is the building of the foundation
  • Expressing yourself leads to new clarity
  • Knowing your tools / materials before designing saves time and improves the outcome
  • By informing people and getting them involved you strengthen your project and team

Outcomes in the field

This section details how this project impacts the world, the field and the client.

As of Nov. 7th my facebook post has 34 likes and 7 comments, it was shared by 16 others on facebook via my bog and reblogged once.

This PSP invokes curiosity and empowers others to get into such projects. Discussing it with Charles Thibodeau I could hear his excitement to installing one in his barn. The client is thrilled with this addition to the cabin.

Primary achievements of this project:

  • Built and installed a PSP within the gift economy
  • Added Solar charting tool to my A&A toolbox
  • Improved carpentry skills/confidence
  • Clarified project/OP design process with deep-flex in prototyping and outlining
  • Succinctly communicated my un/learnings

Professional Outcomes

This section details skillflexes in this cycle which are summarized in the chart below. A more detailed list of skillflexs can be found in the attached PDF.

During this cycle I made an intervention to have my pro-reviews reviewed. This resulted in a new understanding of OPs, reviews and a deeper self-confidence.

Carpentry skills are one of my priority flexes. I made great advances in design, tool competence and execution of design.

I have dabbled in passive solar projects, this PSP pushed my understanding and skills to the next level.

Thoroughly prototyping the project and outlining the OP show my advancement in flexing my systems thinking.

My OP3 skillflexing on Leadership enabled me to empower Prem to be involved, informing some of the design decisions.

My commitment to finish the build ahead of leaving the US and still taking on a more complex design shows a dedication to PM.

Charting a solar azimuth on a sun-chart exceeded my goals of A&A skillflexing.

During this cycle I had two skillflex meeting aimed at finding a career in the Eco-Social field flexing my Social Enterprise skills.

Political and Patrix effects

This project addresses several highly held patrix memes (negative social myths):

  1. Speaking out in class is bad - To be successful you must not question
  2. Professional fundamentalism - If its not your career you can not do it
  3. Civic ignorance - New solutions can not be low-tech DIY and sustainable
  4. Taker Culture - We must extract and dominate to have/protect what we need
  5. Forbidden Knowledge - Restriction of knowledge to maintain an energy monopoly

I envision PSPs and other forms of PS becoming a standard supplimentary energy source in the near future.
