Project Specifications
As of right now I have it split into 6 different output project categories. There this is a chance that it may evolve into some categories turning into 2 or 3 outputs. The categories are as follows:
Project Adventure:
Output 1a Life and Career Review and 1b Learning Intentions and Pathway Design.
The reason the title of this project being "Adventure" is because of the adventures, journeys and experiences that I have gone through that developed who I am and where I am to this day. Those contributions are what created my Life and Career Review. As for my Learning Intentions and Pathway Design, I am still using the title "Adventure" that is because once again, the adventures, experiences, etc have molded my visions and goals in my life. Those experiences have been a huge motivating role when it comes to my project intentions.
Project Education:
Output 2 Teaching with Intention *potentially 3 as well*
I have worked as a teacher for a couple of years in a variety of settings with a variety of styles and ages. I am really passionate about teaching and that is what my long-term vision entails and I see a big chunk of my Gaia U work being dedicated toward Education in some shape or form. With this specific output I want to focus on teaching with intention. With teaching with intention, I want to hone in on what am I good at teaching, what are my passions? Another reason I have teaching with intention in my head is to be very intentional with each lesson plan, each instruction that is given when I teach. Then I want to ask myself why am I doing this? What is the benefit of this? So I can better my teaching ability, as well as benefit the children. I plan to do some self-foraging of articles on Teaching with Intention throughout this output as well. Also, realizing that teaching with intention is a transformative style of teaching where you build from the ground up every year, with new kids and new classrooms, etc.
Project Community:
Output 3 Community in the Classroom/ Activating community
This is to develop my community and find who is in it. Then I want to focus on what community is to them, what do they want to see in a community and why is it important? I plan on harvesting a video compiled of everyones thoughts on community. I also want to shift my focus towards how to bring community into the classroom. I plan on self-foraging information for that to implement into my current classroom as well as search for workshops to possibly attend and document on.
Project Wild:
Output 4- Re-wild/ Eco-Exploration
I would like this output to enhance my knowledge on Primitive Skills that I already have and then also increase my ability to teach primitive skills on a basic level. I would like to host a skill-share or skill-trade day within this output for documentation. I also plan to document some of my learning and unlearning skills throughout the process of experimenting new or old primitive skills.
Project Outreach:
Output 5- Free School
By the end of all the other outputs comes project outreach. To me this looks similar to a free-school, a day where people can come and focus on nature awareness, permaculture 101 coupled with hands on skills/learning. I intend to host a variety of different classes and gain support from local ally to run some of their own classes as well. It would be ideally a 4 hr long program. This is my biggest goal for completing my pre-capstone phase.
Reflection:
Reflections on a professional, personal and project level. Focus on skills learned/unlearned and revisiting intentions.
