OP Commentary

“Pessimists are usually right and optimists are usually wrong but all the great changes have been accomplished by optimists.”

This quote stood out to me among the many roadside messages lining the entry road to Black Rock City at this year's Burning Man (2019).  In moments of doubt I fear that my choice to work for the betterment of humanity and our world is naively optimistic; that I am wasting my time engaged in a hopeless quest against our inevitable demise. This message reminds me that while that may end up being the case, I am right to at least try.
