Introduction

Hello and welcome to my output eight, “Building with the community”. Followed is a representation of my intentions, then outlines for this output packet and it’s projects.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review this output, it is so important that we share in all of our projects together.

For my first project I wanted to start this year similar to the way I started last year’s, full of hands on, inspirational work that would give me the momentum that will carry me through the rest of my last year with Gaia University. I love building; anytime I can incorporate recycled materials or sustainable, multi-functional design methods makes it even more fun, inspirational and satisfying. For the projects herein I want to focus not only the building aspects but also the collaborations that facilitate them. To me it is so important whenever we as individuals in a society do, create, or build something that we involve those around us as much as possible. For my projects I will strive to do exactly that. Sustainable design, architecture and infrastructure is a subject that is very interesting and fun for me. I love finding where traditional building techniques collide with progressive, recycled and eco-conscious modalities. Sometimes it results in a messy failure, but more often than not the results are more beautiful, functional, economic and satisfying. This output period is my study into these exciting projects.

In the first page titled Reclaimed Deck I go over my first project, it's outline and goals. This project was a building job focused on using recycled materials to create a deck. The second page titled Reclaimed Garden Shed, delves deap into the process of building using recycled materials for a garden shed. Page three titled Water Catchment Project is exactly what it sounds like. It is a page that describes the design of a project that I intend on creating in the near future. At the bottom of each page I add a section focused on refelection of the process. Following these pages are more pages including Reflections, Gratitude, Digiphon, Resource Review and Reviews, in that order. Enjoy!
