Conclusions

My learning intentions and pathway design flowed very naturally with my big picture goals. I have always been attracted to Guatemala, Puerto Rico and Costa Rica. Part of my design for the future is to be able to have ongoing ecosocial projects in these countries so that I can spend time on  them. My LIPD reflects exactly this.

Part of my big picture goal is to have a life partner. In my quest for this partner, I am happy that I have found someone very special and beautiful. She came on in to my life less than a year ago. Since then my life has changed its course. Now we have to both take personal and professional decisions that best satisfy our desires. This is why I am moving to Los Angeles at the end of May. It is a big change, but this decision is the best one for us now. We are hoping to be more comfortable with each other and in a better position to move back to Latin America in the next couple of years.

We both are seeking to work on projects that have a positive effect on people. Projects that foster community living, ceremonies, growing food, reforestation, sustainability and education. We both want to live by the permaculture ethics. I am very excited to share this process of designing our lives together.

Final Reflections

As I have reflected in to the past and know into the future I feel very confident as eco-social designer. My time as farm manager in Punta Mona taught me a lot of new skills that are now in my tool box. It is going to be very beneficial to reflect back on this period and maximize my learning and experiences. The community garden in Guatemala City is a project that would have enormous positive impact to a city that needs it. I understand  how ambitious the project is and complicated given that it is part of the government. I am also aware that it is out of my hands to actually be involved with it again. But, the rewards could be so amazing that I think is worth for me to perform a design as part of my LIPD. Lastly, the project in Puerto Rico is very exiting because it’s with my family. This project is going to be important because it is going to keep us being united and share a common space. Furthermore, I am going to gain a lot of experience from it and could use it as a way to market my work for potential future clients.
