Peer Outcomes

My work has already begun to help people in a real way. The participants in the incubator at the Integral Center have expressed their gratitude to me during our closing round, saying that our talks have helped them define what they are doing with their businesses. We have talked about tag lines and elevator speeches, vision, mission, and goals. We have also done networking where participants express their pressing needs and other participants offer help. Several important connections have been made that have allowed these entrepreneurs to progress with their work faster.

I have had some really productive conversations with other Gaia U associates lately. I have participated in Simha's Gaia U Google Hangouts, talking about how to bring the Gaia U community together and utilize Mahara more. I have talked to Tommy about helping him with his software project, using existing software to create a social network/learning marketplace/SOLE environment for a larger audience. I have also had supportive conversations with Benjamin, Amber, and Ava. They have all told me that our conversations have been really helpful for them.

At the North American Permaculture Convergence I co-led the Financial Permaculture working group. Many of the participants told me that they got a lot from what I presented about business models and best practices. Many people signed up on a list to be involved with my metamapping project. I think I helped energize the community around the potential of designing businesses and the economy with Permaculture.

When I went to the Local Food Enterprise Summit in Miami, Florida I brought all of my experience with my own farm and the Oklahoma Food Cooperative. I gave my best effort to help these business owners consider different possibilities of how to move forward. I got appreciation from all of them, they really liked my ideas. I hope that they took something from my experience that helped them change their businesses for the better.

The Integral Center is an amazing environment for both personal and collective transformation. When I first came there I noticed that it was heavier on the personal development teachings and in need of more collective internal and collective external design. I have been working diligently with the support of the staff to bring an incubator into the space, balancing the internal with external development work. I have gotten appreciation from Robert, the director, and Ryan and Michael for contributing to their community and organization.
