Timeline Specification
Layout
I designed the timeline above based on a linear progression of key projects, output commencement and submission dates, and creative/work oriented weekly activities which would be highlighted as the prime focus points during my capstone year. The key aspects of each month are centered around 3 core themes which are
- The design, completion, review, and submission of output packets
- A consistent work-flow of design, performance, recording, and mixing of my second full length album (listed as Andazi but will actually be called Paikea)
- The weekly commitment to my job and joy as a hired musician and street performer in my local community of Avalon. (AMO = Avalon music offerings)
OP Tracking & Schedule Plan
Through analysis of my personal process with creating OPs, I have calculated, that in total, it usually takes me around two weeks of diligent work to successfully design, create, and complete an OP. Through factoring in that 1 review bus leaves every month and the submission/review process usually takes around a week or more to fulfill itself (because of finding a reviewer, self/peer review/feedback, revision/correction, interventions, etc.) I have given myself 1 month for completion per output packet. I am experimenting with a steady streamline approach to Output commencement, completion, and submission by committing to the goal of submitting and reviewing 1 OP at the beginning of every other month, while beginning the next and then completing it within the first two weeks of the following month, allowing me to be prepared to review and submit for the the next month's OP bus and then begin the cycle again.
Intervention & Catch UP
Though the timeline above shows the entry into my capstone phase beginning in July, some life interventions including the passing of my stepfather resulting in recurring trips to the midwest and a period of grief and renewal, a move into a new home, and the beginning of a job as a bus boy at a local restaurant, contributed to the loss of time spent working on my LIPD and thus a decision to begin in August instead. So, what I aim to do is submit this OP in August, as well as begin and complete my OP2 with the intention of still turning it in for submission in September, catching me up with the timeline flow shown above.
OP Essentials Check List
Below is a simplified check list of essential OP criteria to include when designing a full-bodied Output packet. Though I borrowed this check-list directly from Simha Bode's capstone LIPD, I felt it essential to represent it here for my own tracking process because in the past I have forgotten to include many of these aspects, causing me to go back and fill in the blanks when reviewing virtually every output I had ever submitted. I feel that using this as a design/check-list will dramatically help my process of assembling all required information for successful OPs. Thanks Simha! (Link to Simha's Pathway Management Page)

3. External referencing and comparative assessment
4. How my thinking arose from others, identify gaps and articulate interventions
5. Best practices in the field evidence of gaps
6. Integrate comments when including various media (who created it? how were your involved?)
7. Share your roles and accountabilities within context
8. Wrap up threads
