Feedback from Previous OPs
This section contains feedback from my LIPD by my peer, Najiha Al Asmar and main advisor, Ariane Burgess.
Najiha and Ariane said they liked my LIPD, my English sounds great for a non-native speaker and thinks I am getting along with rapid iteration. They also recommended:
- Develop a system to track design tools
- Watch out for typos and editing
- Create better sentence structure
I have made sure I site instances where I have used any tool sited in this OP and how I have tracked them from my LIPD. I have not had enough time to read and re-read to correct typos. I realised in the development of this OP that it is very challenging to edit my own work so I am still getting along with this piece. I continue to stay watchful of my sentence structures and trust they get better every time I write.
Digiphon
In developing this OP, I have used MS Word for text typing and MS Excel for Radar skill flex assessment. I have equally used Google docs for minutes of peer mentorship meetings. Wordpress has been used to develop the blog.
All pictures in this OP were taken by me with the use of a Nikon, Canon and Acer cameras. I have seek permission to use pictures where I am with other people in this OP. The pictures have been edited and resized via Microsoft Office picture manager and Mac pro Photo manager. Journals have been collected via Mac Note.
Estimated Word count: 3650
A Note to the Reviewer
Thank you for reviewing my Output Packet 2 on Self Development and Collective Consciousness. The page you are reading gives an introduction, abstract and overview of this OP. You can also use the Table of Contents to navigate through this OP from this very first page. There are 5 pages with each page having a different layout and design. Most of the content of each page is conveyed in the page title or outlined in the Tables of Content. Generally, the stories/ideas are narrated from left to right. I have also included in this report some attachments and other supporting evidence like journals, and my current skillflexes.
Happy Reading!
Abstract of Core Report
The greatest positive changes as well as negative changes in the world started from the 'I'. As we move into that awareness of reducing our negative footprints, there is a call to realise that the 'I' plays a very important role in making that shift. To solve the problems of today and tomorrow we need to transform ourselves and the world around us. But to do that on the global scale that is required for humanity to survive and thrive into the future, we must first transform the systems that shape and mold us. The fields of permaculture and regenerative design are leading the way in embracing a new paradigm in education, and we are called to start shifting from within. A lot of structures (education, management) have been put in place to make this happen, but there is much work left to be done. In the Core Report we will look at several shades of self development, context and processes involved in transforming oneself and how that all wires up into the creation of a moral person, who is seen and appreciated for the work they do by just communicating it in the right way. We will also be looking at communication as an art and how to make use of available resources to market ourselves. The question to be answered is how do we move from the I to WE to World consciousness? This OP is exploring the connection between our individual selves, the community in which we leave/work and asserting an EcoSocial design perspective that allows us to operate from the I, while effecting change in the wider community.
OP Design Methodology
For this OP I used the model I developed during my LIPD cycle, the I, WE and World pattern except for that, the pattern has been developed from just theory into a practical, hands-on tool that could be used to transform lives. The layout of the OP itself was designed in a hand drawn mind map and developed as I carried out research on the different pieces. The goal of this OP is:
- To advance my understanding of the 'I' and able to make efficient use of it.
- To improve my understanding of collective consciousness and how to weave the social, spiritual, ecology and economic threads to form a self reliant being or system.
- To advance my knowledge on active documentation and acquire communication skills that address 21 century needs.
