This page shows the main results of the process documented on the previous pages. I briefly introduce the property we are buying and that we want to transform into our home. Then I present our draft-concept for our life-project.

Finding Our Place

As I already outlined in Zone 1, we visited a lot of places during the last years. We always hoped to find the one place where we want to live and to raise our children. Going through all the processes and experiences I described, we finally felt that we want to be the guardians of a piece of land. So we looked through classified advertisements, online and offline. The available properties are endless and diverse. But there are only few that come at least close to fulfilling our most important criteria.
One night at 11 pm, my boyfriend showed me an ad he had just found: a little house with 2.4 ha of wood and farmland on a southern slope. The next day we were very enthusiastic about the house and the land. We searched for the exact location on GoogleMaps. Fabian could not believe his eyes when he found out that the association Mellifera e.V. (ecological beekeeping) is located only three kilometers away, as well as a few other ecological institutions and companies. A Rudolf Steiner School is only 18 km away. That was a sign for us! The next days we contacted the real estate agent and different departments and arranged the first viewing.

After the viewing, we were even more convinced that this is the piece of land that we have been waiting for for so long and that we want to take care of.

The next chapter in our life is about to start!

Our Future Property In Short

Location:          close to the village of Binsdorf-Geislingen, Germany
Property size:   2.4 hectares
Altitude:            537-572 m above sea level
Climate:             temperate, continental

The property is located in the administrative district "Zollernalbkreis" in the southwest of Germany. This region is placed in a valley between the Black Forest to the west and the Swabian Mountains to the east.
The property itself faces south and is partly flat and partly sloped. A house of 80 sqm and a garage are part of the property, which was used for growing medicinal plants and plant research until 2010. In 2013 the house burnt down and was completely renovated afterward.

Our Concept ...

  • ... contains our effective frame that is locally adaptable.
  • ... is perfectly cut according to our needs.
  • ... is the basis for a successful project start.

The concept is written in German. As soon as it is completely developed I will translate it into English. At the latest in my next OP, I will publish it in English.
