Zoom-In: Herb Project - Optional
This year we spent a lot of time with active experimentation in growing, drying and processing herbs.
Motivation:
-
personal fulfillment through work that is purposeful, creative and versatile

learn a lot about herbs, their effects, and application
-
contribution to the diversity of plants that grow on the property and provide bees-fodder
-
building up a financial income stream
-
show the local community that we grow herbs on the property, the only occupation that is really legal there
Process Documentation
I created a graphic that shows an overview of all the necessary steps to grow and process herbs.
Herb documentation (in German): each species that we grew in 2019 is described, including Latin names.
Main Outcomes
Professional:

150 sqm. herb field with herbs for teas and medical uses

Weeding out a lot of overgrown areas

Building a professional cupboard to dry herbs

Experience in cultivating, harvesting and processing herbs

Resources that were neccessary
The main resources are the personal ones like stamina, energy and motivation. Without them nothing happens or everything flows tenaciously.
