Journal entry on LIPD Reflections
- TIME AND QUALITY
The second project chosen: ECOVILLAGE INCUBATOR, represents a lovely opportunity to bring some extra energy to the network as well as some extra rigour, accountability, professionalisation and documentation, into a matrix of volunteer work done with lots of heart by many committed worldchangers, but usually overloaded with "going with the flow" mode and "just survival and urgent things" availability.
To my surprise I have found myself is the same "just survival and urgent things" mode while doing this OP. This represents for me a very important un/learning and future promise to organize long standing time schedules and plans, as to be able to visualize the amount of work that the different projects need and when that time is required to be invested.
- PERMACULTURE PRINCIPLES IN PROJECT DESIGN:
It was also a good exercise to apply Holgrem´s 12 permaculture design principles to the OP itself and the projects.
It was a great un/learning to let the principles flow from my background and backstage mind as very useful and powerful tools for decision making. By the way it was a good verification of a deeply rooted appropriation of the principles.
The ecovillage incubator project development will include a P.C. design and model of it on a zoning map container.
- THE POWER OF WELL DONE TASKS:
I am very grateful for the opportunity to re-use and re-purpose previous materials. The higher the quality and suitability of those previous works, the higher the possibilities for direct use and less required second round efforts.
- THE POWER OF TRUE INSPIRATION
True inspiration for me is related not only with personal creativity, capacities, interests and tastes, but also with the alignment of the personal goal with the higher evolutionary need of the broader system.
When this happens, ideas, processes and manifestations into reality flow quiet easily and it is like the whole universe is supporting your vision.
It also allows oneself to keep in track of the energy flow and stay with the same stream/project/idea, and by doing this it is possible to keep on nurturing and developing the project in parallel scenarios.
- SIMPLICITY AND COMPLEXITY:
I enjoyed the overlapping and interchangeable nature of the simp,e and complex patterns. A very simple project can become a complex universe of multiple relations, tasks, interactions, variables, external factors, and at the same time a seemingly complex project can be reduced to very simple phases, plans and tasks.
- BALANCE OF POLARITIES:
It was important to me to feel the balance in the MAIN PLAN of learning intentions and pathway design between personal and collective, between the academic and practical, between the multifunctional complexity of efforts with feedback loops and crossroads between projects and processes and the simplicity of the real, between giving energy to my ecovillage, the network and Gaia U.
Final reflections on completing the whole OP process
IT FELT GREAT TO PRODUCE THIS OP BECAUSE IT BROUGHT TO ME A STRONG FEELING OF "REALLY STARTING" WITH THE M.Sc.
IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO DEFINE PROJECTS AND BRING THEM INTO TASKS IN ORDER TO STEP INTO A HIGHER QUALITY AND LONG TERM TIME PLANNING.
IT WAS VERY REWARDING TO SEE THE INTEEWEAVING OF MANY LAYERS OF GOALS, ALL CLOSE TO MY HEART: WORK TOWARDS A M.Sc. CERTIFICATION, JOIN GAIA U FAMILY AND HELP WITH THE LATINO PROJECT AND BRING ADVANCES INTO THE ECOVILLAGE AND THE NETWORK.
JUST HOW I ONCE DREAMED IT TO BE POSSIBLE, ALL PRAISE BE TO ARTICULATIONS OPPORTUNNITIES
Un/Learning Journal Extracts
I HAVE INCLUDED 2 DIFFERENT JOURNAL POSTS IN THIS OP.
ONE IS A PAGE ON ITS OWN AND HAS TO DO WITH THE INTERPHASE BETWEEN MY WORK WITH THE ECOVILLAGE INCUBATOR PROJECT AND THE Ph.D. THESIS OF A DEAR FRIEND.
THE OTHER IS THE WHOLE LEFT COLUMN OF THIS PAGE. I AM FOLLOWING ANDREW´S REOMENDATION OF HAVING AN EDITED VERSION OF THE REFLECTIONS IN ONE SINGLE JOURNAL READY TO USE AND REPURPOSE.
