Pathway Reflection
This is my final output for my capstone year on the Integrative Eco-social Design Pathway for Gaia University. When I began Gaia I wanted my experience with Gaia University to help me to continue to build a permaculture demonstration site and turn it into an educational space for permaculture. In my first year I engaged in adding more regenerative elements to the demonstration site at Love Creek Permaculture (LCP). In my capstone year I branded my business, held a sustainable living workshop series, and designed an innovative way to hold a Permaculture Design Certification course.
I have taken the initial steps in creating a formidable business based around permaculture. While I am by no means where I have visions of heading with this business, I have invested the time and energy to begin to make those visions realities. My Gaia pathway has given me tools and confidence to continually take steps towards achieving my goals.
Output Specification
Herein lies the summary of my Master’s program pathway with Gaia University. You will find my Gaia pathway explained within the context of my entire educational pathway. This output is organized into an introduction to my pathway, yields from my pathway, the immediate next steps in my pathway, concluding remarks and gratitude. You will be introduced to the themes in each of my years in Gaia. I highlight some of the professional skills I either learned for the first time or increased my abilities in. For my capstone year I go into a little bit more detail and include any aha moments I had and any next steps I want to take.
I also go into the professional yields I gained over my entire pathway and then again any personal yields that were encapsulated by my entire pathway. I then look at my major un/ learning through the lens of the 3ps (project, professional and personal). This project is about me taking passions, gaining knowledge and sharing my passions and knowledge with those that are inspired to learn about them for my professional career.
When I began Gaia I’d like to say I knew where I was headed with it, well, sort of. I wanted my Gaia pathway to reflect the development of Love Creek Permaculture as an educational tool for passing permaculture knowledge on to others. I have to admit; I didn’t really know what my program would consist of once I began thinking about my learning intentions for the first year. I figured I could continue to add new elements to the site and I would finish working on the Permaculture Design Certification Course I was designing. I didn’t know exactly where I was going with this program, but I did at the same time. The vision I had come to Gaia with of turning the family property that I grew up on into a permaculture demonstration and education site was my guiding star for my entire pathway.
