Sunrise behind Tree of Life

LIPD Content Structure

Guidelines to the Reader

This Output Packet (OP in short) is part of my online portfolio using the web technology Mahara to document and share my action learning experiences with GaiaU. You can navigate the pages by clicking through the tab row at the top or the “continue report” button at the end of each page. The displayed mindmaps have a legend explaining the colour code within the page and can best be viewed full screen. Links incorporated in the text are marked in bold words and will open in a new window.

Furthermore external resources, images and graphics are numbered and referenced in the footnotes of the respective page, in addition to a resource review. Because of the vast documentation, I designed from patterns to details, marking further material and outcomes as additional material (A) in the mindmap above and/or directly in the title to keep the main report manageable, please decide about depth of engagement considering your interests and time, especially as an OP reviewer.

Thank you for taking the time and please contact me for further questions or feedback by emailing Laura@be-the-change.de or posting in the comment section on the first page.

Feedback from Previous OP's (A)

Moving into my capstone phase I decided to re-visit the reviews of the last two OPs and acceleration process to incorporate constructive feedback into the new learning cycle. My leading question was how I can expand learning edges and improve the quality of my work considering their benefit for me, the community and ecosocial regeneration. I felt joy and energy for writing OP 1 and pushing my edges through reading appreciative feedback. Moreover I gained clarity and focus for this OP and developed action steps for improvement.

Firstly I added footnotes for external references and source citation at the end of each page, additional to the annotated resource review, to make resource use more transparent and easily accessible. Reflecting on OP flow, I tweaked the content structure and separated the commentary including OP design in form of a prezi presentation clearly from the project report itself. Finally I focused on engaging with a creative, joyful and soulful quality in the OP production, including more dynamic writing, mixed media and art.

Summary of Key Un/Learnings (A)

  • Build resilience for my learning design, personal life, support system and OP production in these times of unexpected (technological) challenges
  • Get to know myself better through inner and outer travel, be honest and humorous for exploring my character and higher potential
  • Follow my heart and inner calling, no one else can guide me better and by the way discovering and fulfilling personal gift and purpose is a life long process
  • Use the natural curiosity, creativity and passion for learning to guide my pathway and work through resistance of challenges
  • Don’t get lost or over excited about complexity, work through it in many small pieces and let the best decisions emerge over time
  • Embrace integration and dynamic adaption as a continuous process during the OP creation and learning design as an ever evolving project

Learning Intentions and Pathway Design

Love for Learning in Action

Designing my Personal Life, Project Work and Learning Journey for Ecosocial Regeneration

Output Packet 1 - Capstone Phase - Bachelor of Science - Integrative Ecosocial Design

Overview

Welcome to my Output Packet 1, the Learning Intentions and Pathway Design (referred to as LIPD) for my capstone phase. I am a BSc associate in Integrative Ecosocial Design at Gaia University and this LIPD is the first project of the year focused on planning a self directed action learning cycle. The report documents the design process and activities undertaken to set learning intentions and design my future learning journey including strategic plans for projects, personal growth and program pathway.

Purpose

  • Provide a space to consciously harvest my learning design and document the processes and tools applied
  • Support me to clarify and set learning intentions and strategic goals for my personal development, project work and program pathway
  • Explore my vision, interests and learning edges that I wish to engage with and transform them into practical action learning cycles and output patterns
  • Disseminate the design process, methods, project outcomes and learnings within the GaiaU community and ecosocial field

The heart and soul of this project is my passion for life-long action learning and vision of a more beautiful world. Connecting to this joy, curiosity and excitement about un/learning I envisioned the most amazing year I can think to craft my goals and design plan. For this purpose I applied a permaculture design process as the supportive framework of this project consisting of the steps survey, analysis, design, implementation and adaption. They inspire and guide this exploration and give the report its structure.

Abstract

Project Design: This section introduces the permaculture design framework of this project reflecting on the process, application and learning experiences

Survey: During survey I looked at my current projects, commitments, lifestyle, interests, skillflexes, vision, limits and resources to observe, explore existing opportunities and inform the learning design

Analysis: Outcomes of the analysis activities are a permaculture zoning diagram of my personal life, articulation of the decision making process and criteria as well as the development of inspirational SMART goals

Design: The design phase is a three-folded, integrative process focused on being, doing and learning to create designs for my personal life, the permaculture zone 00, project work with strategic plans and action learning cycles, and program pathway covering a learning contract, program outline and OP production

Implementation: This section describes the design of my implementation plan, setting an intentional timeline for the capstone phase, creating a learning support system and compiling a set of best practice for managing my project and study work

Adaption: The last phase summarizes the creation of a system for routine reflection and dynamic adaption to creatively respond to change and tweak the design

Commentary: This prezi presentation harvests the design process, project management and un/learnings of creating this OP guided by Dragon Dreaming

Supportive Evidence: Includes a resources review, additional material documenting the design and outcomes of this LIPD project, participation records of interacting with GaiaU and extracts of my un/learning journal to offer further insights into my dynamic thought processes

Process Reflections: This page displays my final process reflections reviewing the OP and project work in addition to comments on my un/learning experiences
