OP 4 Bachelor Degree Program and Permaculture Diploma, Pre-Capstone Phase, Year 2

DJI_0109

Purpose

  • creating an OP with a strong focus on permaculture

  • document my process of creating a „Pattern Design“ of our property

  • going chronologically through a land-based design process

  • give an overview of our life, the property, challenges, and possibilities

  • show what we implemented during the first year

  • plan what we want to design and implement in the future

Summary

Welcome, everyone to my third content related Output Packet (OP) of my second year in the GaiaU Permaculture Diploma and Bachelor Degree Program "Integrative Ecosocial Design"!

This OP documents my design process of designing a „Pattern Design“ for our property. This „Pattern Design“ is the foundation to specifically design and implement smaller areas on the property. It describes our goals and wishes, shares observations, challenges and possibilities that are relevant for a successful design and implementation for different areas in the future.
The main Outcome of this OP is a realistic design for our property and an assessment where we want to set our priorities and start with the implementation.
To structure the Core Report I used an adapted land-based design process called SADIED (Survey, Analysis, Design, Implement, Evaluate, Develop). This process leads the reader chronologically through the process and provides information in relevant order.

Structure

1. Project Description

  • Design goal

  • Ethics in the design goal

  • Choice of the design process model

2. Going through the Design Process (SADIED)

  • Going through the different design phases, using different design methods

  • Working with the design principles

  • Reflection of the process

Incooperation of Feedback

In this OP I incorporated a lot of Feedback. Starting the Permaculture Diploma, my Portfolio needed to reviewed from my Permaculture Mentor.
My incorporation of Feedback is two-folded:

1. Feedback from my Main Advisor, Laura Kaestele from OP3

2. Feedback from my Permaculture Mentor, Nesrin Caglak from my Portfolio

I collected all the Feedback in two different documents and added my plan on how I want to implement the Feedback in this OP. My comment is written in orange/rosa.

Guidelines for Reading (optional)

For an overall ORIENTATION please see the TABLE OF CONTENTS above.

It is not necessary to read the OP in its presented order, but if you do so, it is easier to follow and understand.

Most of my DOCUMENTS are shared through Dropbox. If you are logged in to Dropbox, you can see them directly.
Otherwise, click the button "Continue to document". All documents are linked directly in the text as well as in the section
Supporting Evidence. There you can view all of my additional documents.

To enlarge the PICTURES just click them. They will open in Flickr.

All texts marked with 'OPTIONAL' include further information and are not necessary to follow the Main Report.

To NAVIGATE in this OP, use the tab on the top or click "CONTINUE REPORT" at the end of each page to go to the next page.
