The purpose of this OP
In this Learning Intentions and Pathway Design output packet, I have chosen 3 projects out of a handful in which I am currently involved:
GAIA UNIVERSITY LATINA
ECOVILLAGE INCUBATOR
COFFEE DE LA TIERRITA
By this selection and derived development of goals, tasks and time lines I have found a good balance in my un/learning goals ans needs, between the personal and collective, between the academic and practical, between the multifucntional complexity of efforts with feedback loops and crossroads between projects and processes and the simplicity of the real, between giving energy to my ecovillage, the network and Gaia U.
This OP and its 3 projects represent a good promise, vision and dream of next important steps for the development and continious unfolding of Atlántida ecovillage, CASA network and Gaia U, especially relevant to outreach capacities and improved positioning in the social context, as to play an increasingly important role in the transformation of our societies.
Abstract & Summary of this OP
The first and main project is related to the set up of Gaia University Latina and involves collaboration with my main adviser Javiera, who at the same time is the main coordinator of this Gaia U project, but also with my guild buddy Beatriz Arjona.
The big piece has to do with translation and adaptation of materials from english to spanish and Latino context. And because this Gaia U project has already a completion date and launching projection for September 2013, it bring into my Gaia U pathway a rainforcement of my own personal goal of following the accelerated pattern for my M.Sc.
The second project to bring into the Gaia U pathway has to do the Ecovillage Incubator, an very wide concept that emcopasses not only the nurturing and multiplication of new ecovillages projects but also the development of wider and stronger capacities of the ecovillage network, specifically in educational outreach, internal structure and social outreach.
The third project is very dear to my heart because is the result of 4 years of endeavours to set up a cofee plantation in my ecovillage, and now that is faully productive and the prices of the raw grain have falled dramatically, I have finally gathered momentum as to start our own brand of coffee: CAFE DE LA TIERRITA.
The idea is to transform and process our own coffee, skip intermediaries and bring together consumers and producer via a creative sales model which includes our network of relations in the city.
In the following pages I break down into more details these 3 projects and add some reflections around it.
