Re-wilding Judaism Retreat

I am organizing and facilitating a Re-wilding Judaism retreat here in Colorado. I got a 5,000 dollar grant from the Moishe House Retreat. I plan to find a sweet location that can feel intimate and spacious and have connection to the natural world. The goal of this retreat is to create a space where participants can get a taste of earth-based Judaism and experience it through embodiment, nature connection, and discussion of Jewish connection and responsibility to nature through concepts such as the moon calendar, Shmita, and Wilderness Meditation. My brother Ophir Haberer, who worked for Wilderness Torah in California and Abrah Dresdale, a Jewish permaculture professor will be facilitating the retreat. Mission: Connect Folx to the earth-based wisdom of Judaism and help them reconnect to prayer through nature awaerness and guided dance and movement

Testimonials:

“As a mixed heritage Jewish person raised Christian, stepping into Jewish spaces has been a terrifying and challenging experience. The organizers of this retreat made me feel so comfortable and welcome that learning about the traditions and the practices of Jewish people was rich and easy”

A wildly inclusive, rejuvenating experience. I have not found a Jewish community I felt authentic plugging into… until now.

Dor, Ophir, and Abrah held an amazing container full of nourishment, community, exploration, and regenerative connection to each other, nature, and Judaism. This retreat helped bring me into right relationship with my personal Judaism and the larger religion. It also helped me connected to the local Jewish community of my generation, which I’m grateful for. Overall, I would call this experience profound, transformative, and deeply connective.

This retreat is tapping into the most vibrant and relevant edges of 21st Judaism I’ve experienced. Thanks to Moishe House for supporting this vital work.” Adam Brock, author of Change Here Now, voted one of Denver’s top thinkers

I am grateful to have been able to unravel and recreate a kinship with a form of Judaism that feels complete, progressive, accessible, inclusive, tight-knit, honoring, reflective, and healing. Thank you Moishe House for funding this retreat--the impact will most certainly have a rippling effect to me personally and my broader community.
