How to read this OP

This Output packet breaks up into three different parts:

Part 1 =Core Report  (This includes my process in creating a three-day retreat, highlighting the most recent Rewilding Judaism retreat)

Part 2 = Commentary (This includes my reflections on retreat and where I am withing my Gaia University pathway)

Part 3 = Supporting Evidence (Unlearning Journals and different elements I used during the retreat)

Summary

In this OP, I cover a 3 day retreat my brother and I did on Re-wilding Judaism for Colorado's Front Range (Boulder and Denver) community. I was able to bring the experience of Wilderness Torah and embodied Judaism to this community. The retreat was a huge success.

I used GASADIE-- a permaculture design tool-- to design this retreat and OP.

Re-wilding Judaism

I am organizing and facilitating a Re-wilding Judaism retreat here in Colorado. I got a 5,000 dollar grant from the Moishe House Retreat. I plan to find a sweet location that can feel intimate and spacious and have connection to the natural world. The goal of this retreat is to create a space where participants can get a taste of earth-based Judaism and experience it through embodiment, nature connection, and discussion of Jewish connection and responsibility to nature through concepts such as the moon calendar, Shmita, and Wilderness Meditation. My brother Ophir Haberer, who worked for Wilderness Torah in California and Abrah Dresdale, a Jewish permaculture professor will be facilitating the retreat. Mission: Connect Folx to the earth-based wisdom of Judaism and help them reconnect to prayer through nature awaerness and guided dance and movement

How I incorporated feedback from last OP

Ava Feedback:

  • Emphasize how you developed your ability to manage time and promises
  • Include Feedback from Participants
  • Grammatical Errors and word count
  • Links at bottom of each page
  • Celebrate finishing on time

Liam Feedback:

  • Include a chart to map out the design of OP and project
  • Highlight more outcomes
  • Explicit articulation of design process
  • Include what would you would do differently next time

Digiphon

I am becoming more proficient with digital tools. These tools have been especially helpful this OP:

  • Spotify-Its great for creating playlists for dances
  • Google Drive- Creating spreadsheets and documents and then making them into PDFs. I love how easy it is to store it. I want to organize my drive better.
  • Xmindmap- Good for showing goals and then repeating them
  • Mahara- The journal and plan functions have served me well.
  • I have been doing a lot of phone conferences on the iPhone merging calls
  • Grammarly- I have the program attached to my google chrome and it shows me grammar and spelling mistakes right away, which has allowed me to edit more beforehand. This has been so useful for me.
  • Quicktime Player- I used this to make the videos for my journaling
  • LibreOffice- I used this for both word documents and spreadsheets and to fill out evaluation forms
  • Zoom.us- I used Zoom to do calls with Liam and other associates throughout this OP
