Maintenance of records, equipment, infrastructure, and compliance

Maintenance and Monitoring

The maintenance and monitoring of this redesign should be done through collaborative efforts of Andover's Transfer Station Attendants, a Recycling Committee and the NRRA. There are equations for calculating tonnage per person, waste diversion, trends and much more in the EPA manuals. Of special interest--and with much power of persuasion--are the economic fluctuations. If inputs are continued in the spreadsheets/graphs of annual expenditures and revenues, trends can be analyzed and used as guidance for "next steps." Many of these equations are already understood by Reggie Roy, though could easily be recorded in a file for use by future employees of the Town.

The equipment and infrastructure maintenance are generally given upon purchase/installment and should be kept in a file at the Transfer Station to ensure longevity of the Town's investments.

Of utmost importance is continuing education, communication, and motivation of townspeople to participate in the programs offered (i.e. waste reduction, recycling, Swap Shop, Household Hazardous Waste days). This can be accomplished through the Andover's local newspaper, the Beacon, and through the town website.
