Guidelines to the Reader
Navigate this Collection front to back, beginning with this page of Specifications and Abstract (which includes self, peer, and pro reviews in the commentary section at the bottom). My Reflections and Commentary are together followed by the Core Report, depicting my Goals, Skills, and Interests; Projects, Timelines and Plans; and finally my OP planning. Last is the Supporting Evidence page.

Feedback from Previous OPs
The feedback I consistently get has to do with the Process Skills area of my portfolios, specifically the "Critical Evaluation Skills and Reference to Good Practices Elsewhere" and "Collaboration, Participation, Use of Peers, Allies, Mentors." I also find myself weak in the Action Learning Skills and plan to dive into this area deeper as I go along in this Cycle. One last area that was completely absent for the first year of my ALC-1 was an Annotated Resource Review which I now understand and will further develop the skill of creating one for each OP.
Key Un/Learnings
The completion of my ALC-1 surfaced many confusions and misunderstandings about how crucial it is to create a strong LIPD. My first one had no timeline for OP Planning, and hardly any plans at all. This became evident halfway through my cycle and that "A-ha!" moment has led me to focus much more energy in the process of planning for this pathway.

Abstract & Summary
Welcome to the start of my next Action Learning Cycle! A good portion of this Learning Intentions and Pathway Design (LIPD) core report is dedicated to outlining my Goals, Skills and Interests in each of the 8P’s and how I plan to attend to these areas. The rest of the report outlines my project intentions and the designs of each: reflections on teaching permaculture, self-taught landscaping design, and plant propagation and maintenance. I have created a thorough timeline for completing all the requirements of this cycle by April of 2016.
In my first LIPD, I provided little content on my plans and projects—I was totally unprepared. My understanding of the LIPD's purpose is much greater now, hopefully evidenced by my mindmaps and detailed plans.
Over the last two months of creating this LIPD, I have spent hours and hours investigating my life: work, family, friends, ambitions, needs… It seems as though I have the conductor’s seat now, control over the orchestra if only for a moment. It’s a lovely feeling.
Review Action Learning Cycle 1
Learning Intentions and Pathway Design
Project Output Packet 1: Ecological Design in the Built Environment -- Follow my journey of renovating my homestead and building a Food Forest using green and natural building techniques guided by Permaculture principles.
Project OP 2: Jump and Sprout Program and Penacook Community Gardens -- Explore the successes and challenges of a community garden and food program for children of low-income families.
Project OP3: Waste Transfer Station Redesign -- Discover the process of redesigning a town's transfer station--learn about policy, finances, ergonomics, and psychology of trash and recycling.
Purpose
This Output Packet bursted from the fruit of my first Action Learning Cycle's biggest un/learning: a strong LIPD is a powerful tool and should not be skimpily thrown together. Without goals, direction, theories, and visions I am useless in the utilitarian sense. I cannot be happy or healthy without a clear pathway to provide guidance and achieve dreams that are global-centric.
Outlining my project intentions and plans, my un/learning goals and skillflex development will prove immensely useful in completing this cycle in a full-bodied, expansive learning environment, as well as in a timely manner. I hope it will prove useful to others as I found great help in other Gaia U associates LIPDs--for content, set up, style, projects, and even reflections. Enjoy!
